P3A absolutely LOVE reading! So, we have been spending lots of time in class reading different stories and building up our comprehension skills.
One of our favourite ways to do this is by playing comprehension games such as Roll and Tell, where pupils role the dice and share their answer to the corresponding question with their partner. Learners are often asked to share their partner’s answer with the rest of the class. This encourages all learners to practice listening well and retaining information.
We have also been working collaboratively to discuss and record thoughts and ideas in response to questions about stars, which are the focus of our new writing unit ‘Alfie’s Star’. Again, this activity provided learners with the opportunity to work together, listen to one another and discuss their ideas.
All learners engaged fantastically throughout each of these activities!
